month in review | may

May brought with it the first taste of summer days and I couldn't be happier about it. Lots of fun times with friends and adventures were had this month. It sure was a good one!

Dinner, fire, and sunset at Moses Point with Madi and Laura. This felt like the official start to summer nights!

The photos above are from this neat space in town called The Atrium. It's probably my favourite place in Victoria, it's just so unique! But I'm rarely in the are so don't visit often.

Lilac season!! Short lived but still as great as ever.

A day at Butchart Gardens with Madi. I couldn't get over how incredibly beautiful the gardens are!

A last minute hangout at the Bleue Coyote.

Abbotsford Tulip Festival with Momma for Mother's Day. Such a fun day!

My little room. I absolutely adore how this space has come together.

Ended off the month with a trip to the Mainland where Madi and I went kayaking off of her parent's houseboat.

the butchart gardens

A couple of weeks ago, on a hot Sunday afternoon, Madi and I cashed in our complimentary tickets that our landlord had given us for The Butchart Gardens. The Butchart Gardens are a pretty popular tourist destination here in Victoria, and just so happen to be right down the road from home. I don't know how I've lived here so long and have never actually stepped foot in the gardens, but our landlord started working for them last year and gave us some free tickets, so I had no reason not to visit!

I never expected it to be as beautiful as it was! I was in awe of all of the flowers and work that must go into the upkeep. The Italian Garden was my very favourite. It really felt like I stepped into a little Italian courtyard for a couple of minutes and made me want to visit the real Italy even more than I already do!

I definitely want to make it back a little later this summer when the roses are in bloom in the Rose Garden. It was such a lovely afternoon spent with my best friend!

summer sunset scenes

With the weather getting warmer and less rain on the forecast these days, we've been spending a bit more time at the beach. One night a couple of weeks ago, we headed to Moses Point for an evening of grilling dinner, watching the sunset, and having a beach fire.

I bought this little grill for $20 last spring and it's probably the best money I've ever spent.

While we were waiting for the grill to heat up, Madi and Laura did a touch of yoga.

We were spoiled with such a beautiful sunset this night. I'm so glad I brought my camera to document it a little better!

Here's to the summer that's fast approaching and to more nights like these!
