I met up with this lovely lady yesterday morning for some simple portraits and she rocked it! We started out in the forest that has a little trail running straight through it with a simple outfit, then made our way down to the beach to get some more fun, summery shots. Isn't she a natural!?

question & answers vlog

A few notes:

1. This was probably attempt number 30 at recording this vlog and I still managed to make it awkward. I'm an awkward person, okay?

2. It was a Tuesday and I just got home from school which explains my hair.

3. It looks like I'm hacking my eyeball out at one point but I assure you I'm not.

4. I have a lisp and apparently talk without showing my teeth? Yep, I'm a derp.

5. I couldn't find the "little swede type uhm gladiator type sandal things with uhm like little brass button type thingies on them", so you're gonna have to go without!

It was a Tim Horton's drinking, curb balancing, bus riding, harbour wandering, island visiting long weekend. And it was perfect.

How was your weekend?

the island off the island

I live on a fairly large island known as Vancouver Island, and off of this fairly large island are several smaller islands ranging from 10-40 minute boat rides away. Newcastle Island is one of those islands. It's a short 10 minute boat ride away from the harbour and I've been going there for as long as I can remember. Before my grandpa passed away my grandparents owned a fairly large boat and we took a ton of boating trips- several day trips to Newcastle, and even some 4-6 hour journeys to the middle of nowhere where we would sometimes stay for a week at a time.

After my grandpa passed away though my family rarely visited the island because it's such a memorable place to us, but yesterday my best friend and I took the little green ferry over which marked my first visit in over 5 years.

It's a beautiful island and we had an amazing day wandering the beaches, tanning, and burying ourselves in the sand. It was definitely one of those near summer days to remember.
