the weekend

It's 14 degrees and overcast right now. I'm curled up in a big chair with a piece of banana bread, some orange pekoe tea, my knitting, and one of four new books I got in the mail yesterday. The cool weather is a welcome change from the 25+ degree heat we've been having lately.

I've been so busy with school these past couple of weeks and have barely had any time to myself to just be. I'm more of a homebody than anything else, and while I love routine and being busy, I love having nothing on the agenda and relaxing at home even more.

So I've dedicated this weekend to reading, knitting, and drinking tea. Writing letters, watching movies, and sleeping in. Wandering the internet, catching up on YouTube videos, and nothing but relaxation. Maybe I'll even throw a self mani-pedi in there somewhere.

It'll be good.

What are you doing this weekend?

  1. I had work today, and I'm exhausted and just want to sleep forever. So I'm going to relax completely this evening, a hot bubble bath and poetry and an early night. Tomorrow, some homework, some Sunday-morning silence, maybe some blackberrying. And then more sleep.
& I'd love to hear your thoughts on Bloom when you finish it. Part of me feels a bit weird about reading the memoir of a blogger. It just feels so unusual, so I'm curious as to what you think.

  2. the first picture: YES. we will have to discuss it when you finish :) I think I've read that maybe four or five times through now. I wish I had a hard copy, though! the pictures look so nice!

I'm looking forward to a pretty chill weekend, too, except I have a college interview tomorrow evening. :P

  4. This was written for me. I'm (attempting to) relax this weekend, though I doubt it will happen. :) Looks like I have a lot of homework in my future... ;)
And I'm with everyone else - would LOVE to hear how Bloom is when you're finished!
