what a photographer will do to capture a sunset

Excuse me for the lack of proper posts this weekend, but I think you'd understand if I told you that we've been having beautiful 20 degree weather these past couple of days (that's in the 70's for you fahrenheit-er's)!

Aside from the photo shoot with friends on Friday, my weekend wasn't too exciting. The majority of it was spent laying on the lush green grass gazing up into the bright, cloudless blue sky.

Come Saturday night though, the boring-ness of a lazy weekend had started to kick in, and when I saw the beautiful golden light shining through my windows, I felt the need to rush down to the water to capture the would-be beautiful sunset.

This is the part where I share a funny story!

In order to get down to the water in time for the would-be miraculous sunset, I had two options, running, and biking. Due to shin-splints, running really wasn't the best option, so I opted for the latter. Between me, my mom, and my sister Sabrina, we own 3 bikes, none of which work properly. Of course I hadn't known that none of them worked until frantically running back to the house 3 times after only making it to the end of the road each time.

Just a flat tire, so no pictures of that one! ;)

After trying not just one, not two, but THREE bikes that didn't work, I gave up and ended up taking a few pictures of the beautiful golden light through the trees in my backyard.

Definitely not as exciting as it would have been if I had been down at the water, but at least I got a funny story out of it! :)

On another note, I have exactly 12 days left until it is officially summer! Final Exams included! :) I really can't wait!

Happy Monday my friends!
